BJC Home Care was founded at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis in 1953. It was the first home care program west of the Mississippi River and only the third hospital-based, coordinated home care program in the country.
Today, BJC Home Care is the largest and most comprehensive home care provider in the St. Louis region, touching thousands of patients in more than 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
Our team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, volunteers and other health care professionals is nationally recognized for continuous quality and innovations.
A central referral center coordinates care by a team of professionals, making BJC Home Care a one-stop center for home health care. We offer state-of-the-art technologies with a personal commitment to our patients.
Patients can be referred to BJC Home Care by physicians, case managers, social workers, hospital discharge planners, families, friends or by patient request. Care is prescribed by a physician to address the patient's illness, chronic condition or disability. Services are provided on a part-time basis and are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and by most managed care and indemnity insurance plans.
Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
